We had a welcoming party at Heathrow, which cheered us up on a thoroughly miserable Friday morning and gave us the energy to face the rush hour crowds on the trains home. Rick's first task was to fix the boiler (not working since October!), before it was time to rummage around in the attic for clothes, shoes and make up and pack another bag for Carolyn and Christopher's wedding in Chorleywood. It was a lovely event and a great way to return home, seeing so much of the family.
Rick already has an interview lined up, 4 days after returning home! I've been too busy catching up with my girlfriends, but I'm sure I'll be back on the treadmill before too long.
It's been an amazing six months, but it's great to be home, whatever the weather. We arrived back to a spotless house (thanks Emily and Shane) and a clean and comfortable bed. It's been great to catch up with friends and family, and we're looking forward to lots more of that in the run up to Christmas. The novelty may wear off before long - soon, if it gets any colder and wetter - but so far it's been just great.
