A couple of beers and some hand-rolled sushi later and we were in heaven! The jet lag held out until about 10.30pm at which point we had to crawl into our comfy (if slightly sloping) futon.
Fully revived we've been making the most of the excellent food, and good drinking opportunities since we've been here. Ben and Sachiko took us out in Boston's South End for drinks at the top of the Prudential Building, jazz at Wally's and trendy cocktails.
Our last few days have been spent in Marshfield, Massachussets in a very leisurely fashion. the most energetic activity being a jog around the cranberry bog outside the house. Mum and Michael have made us very welcome as usual. In fact we've been quite spoilt. I think our next stop will be quite a shock to the system, although we are looking forward to continuing our adventure.
The weather has been hot and humid, so a few trips to the beach and cold
beers have been called for to keep us cool and happy. In return for all this indulgence, I was required to speak to Mum's class at school and give a presentation on all of our travels to a group of 8 year olds! Possibly the most challenging presentation I've given for years, and as for the questions - I think they knew more than I did about some of the countries we are visiting! They were most interested in the animals that I might see/have seen - the larger the better.(Picture is of Mum's house in Marshfield)
