Bohemian Valparaíso

We had been looking forward to coming to Valparaiso throughout our trip to Chile but have now ended up with just less than 2 days to explore this bohemian city by the sea... However, we made the most of our time exploring the hills and the port, enjoying the views and the local cuisine, and the ascensores (lifts) that will take you up and down the steepest hills for a mere 100 pesos (10p).

We found the locals friendly and helpful, one ex-army officer even bought our train tickets for us one day when we looked a bit confused! That wouldn't happen in London.....
