We made an impressively early start on a cold wet morning to head on South to the mountains, with a quick stop at Lake Matheson, which on a clear day reflects Mount Cook perfectly...needless to say it was not reflecting much bar the shoreline given the low lying cloud, but I made the walk to the lake front in the rain while Rick sensibly waited in the warm dry car... but it was beautiful, and I pretty much had the place to myself, apart from a few ducks...
From the sublime, to the ever so slightly rediculous, we made a stop at "Stuart Landsborough's Puzzling World" as we got closer to Queenstown, and had a funny hour getting confused in the wooden maze and 'Illusion Rooms'. Who needs mountains and skiing when you can get lost in a big kid's playground?

One of my bunnies lives at Lake Matheson. He visited in 1994 and liked it so much he stayed (Well, fell out of my hand whilst Mum and Dad weren't looking, actually). I hope he was able to show Rick and Lesley round.
